My name is Kate Mckinney and I'm 19 years old. Art has always been a focal point in my life. You could say art was my escape. Just like a many other kids I was bullied for years and Art was always there for me, never judging who I was as an individual. I used to imagine different places I could escape to. A reality to call my own if you will. My artwork shows a sneak peek into my imagination and into the place I call reality. I love using charcoal and chalk to create these images because I feel it gives off that misty dream-like sensation. It allows the detail to flow more cohesively with one another while still allowing the imagination to escape into the scenes.
